Good Morning,

I am very interested in obtaining more information about your company and services that you offer. I am a disabled veteran who is trying to start my own business. I was made aware of the opportunity of becoming a DVBE certified business by a friend. He could not provide me with very much information, as it was something he had just heard of himself.

After researching DVBE in a google search, I came across two websites that were informative. One of them led me to yours

I was made aware of the Standard Industrial Classification or (SIC) Code Lists though the website: http://www.pd.dgs.ca.gov/smbus/certappinst.htm#sic

I also found the .PDF application form for the Small Business Certification Application , STD. 813

Although I am still unaware of the entire process. I wanted to know how you could help me get the DVBE business that I want to start up and running. What are the potential problems I may be facing.

If their is any help that anyone could offer me I would greatly appreciate a response.

Go to www.sba.gov and type in keyword service disabled veteran. In 1998 the president signed an executive order that enabled service connected disabled veterans to participate in the US Small Business Administrations 8a program. You are essentially applying for 8a certification using your service disabled veteran status as the basis for the certification. Our firm, according to the processing center in Calif. was the first certified in the country in the 8a program under this executive order. The web site contains all the details and your seeking 8a certification. There are other certification agencies but the easiest way to maximize the benefit associated with your SDVE status relative to a federal contract procurement officer is the 8a certification.
